Product Design
The original chair design for Grass-Hop faced several limitations. It utilized excessive wood, making it heavy and bulky, and was primarily suited for outdoor use only.
PROBLEM
The aim was to reimagine the design to reduce material usage and weight, incorporate sustainable materials, and refine the overall aesthetic. A key objective was to create a more versatile piece that could function in various indoor and outdoor spaces.
GOAL
Design refinement turned the chair into a stool, reducing weight and material use. Its compact size enhances versatility for home and public use. Named “Grass-Hop Stool” for its streamlined strength, it features a stable, elegant three-legged design. Initially made from repurposed wood, production now uses premium woods like cedar, walnut, and mahogany. Future plans include seat cushions with nature, urban, and cultural art-inspired patterns. Focusing on sustainable design and versatility, the Grass-Hop Stool overcame challenges and paved the way for creative growth.
